反面意见，西医不能完全放弃

My mom bought this book, along with every available alternative cancer treatment book she could get her hands on. She was diagnosed with Stage 1 Breast Cancer and believed she could cure her cancer with alternative treatments. She had several alternative doctors she worked with and forego the advice of her regular doctor and her oncologist. She even bought this book for my sister and I. I have so many regrets today. I told her I personally would take the advice of a well known oncologist over someone selling a product/ book that didn't have the credentials to determine her treatment but that was all I said. I told her whatever decision she made I would support. She died this past February a week after turning 59. She had cut out all sugar, no meat, ate organic, exercised, took IV supplements and alternative treatments at a clinic, acupuncture, and more. She tried ceseem (sp?), protocel, and cur cumin IV and more. She did everything she could think of and was guided to do and nothing worked for her. She died because she didn't do radiation, because she didn't do chemo and more importantly, she died because of the cancer. People floor me when they say that chemo kills. Chemo is trying to kill the cancer and yes, it may not work, but alternative medicine doesn't work all the time either. On another note, my step mom had breast cancer over 20 years ago. She had a mastectomy and chemo. Guess what, she is still alive. My husband's aunt has breast cancer... again over 15 years ago, she had a lumpectomy and chemo, and she is still alive. My sister's friend had a mastectomy and is on medicine, she is still alive. My mom didn't make it three years and suffered very badly in the end. Chemo may make you suffer... but not doing chemo may also make you suffer. My mom suffered kidney failure, large, open wounds where the cancer ate through her skin, weakness and weight loss. She suffered many months. So, go ahead and buy this book. But beware. It didn't work for my mom. She was optimistic to the end too. (By the way, she was very religious..for those of you who will say she wasn't "saved" because she didn't have faith...couldn't be further from the truth.)
